Telnet Sites

Q: So what exactly is telnet?

A: telnet is one of the most unused protocols on the internet, people think "the web" is the internet, and ftp is just for "the web". well, you are DEAD wrong. Telnet is a way to log into a foreign computer, no your not introuble, only computers that support incoming connections allow it. BUT If you are using the web, you can telnet. For the web, browsing application, for telnet, you'll need a telnet application. Since I'm nice I provided some links to get one!

Q: How can I use telnet?

A: A variety of ways, people normally use telnet to access their UNIX shell's, others use telnet to MUD, MOO or haven.

Q: Is it anything like irc?

A: "Internet relay Chat," consists of a large network of computers, connected with the same protocol. Great concept, couple flaws, 1) this nasty thing called LAG, causes netsplits and chaos everywhere, 2) you have to worry about someone taking over your channel? please, grow up, 3) there are millions of people on one irc network, its like a damn city, you only know those people in your channel, like a little neighborhood in that city, 4) BOTS, why do we need to deal with unhuman things when we try to get away from them by talking to people in the first place? So, No, telneting to a MUD, MOO, or haven is not like IRC, They are like Universities in a city where you know 75-80% of the students, like a family they like to say.

Q: Is it like a channel on AOL?

A: An AOL channel is full of idiots who want sex, so answer is NO
